Equipment Buying Guides
Telecom hardware is specified in acronyms, and the difference between two parts that look identical on a shelf is usually one letter in the part number. These guides explain the choices we get asked about most — what the interfaces mean, what to check before you buy, and where the trade-offs sit between new and serviceable-used stock.
They are written from the equipment we actually handle, not from a template. Where a decision depends on your platform, the guide says so instead of guessing: send us the chassis or switch model and we will confirm compatibility against the manufacturer data sheets we hold.
- 100G QSFP28 optical transceivers: SR4, CWDM4, LR4 and DWDM
- 10G SFP+ and 1G SFP transceivers: reading the part number
- Carrier Ethernet switches: what “carrier” adds over enterprise access
- Remote radio units (RRU/RRUS): bands, power and fronthaul
- Line cards and interface cards: matching a card to its chassis
Every family referenced in these guides is listed with its variants compared side by side in the equipment series index.
