Ericsson MINI-LINK Microwave Transport
The Ericsson MINI-LINK 6000 is the current generation of Ericsson's long-running microwave radio family, used to backhaul mobile traffic where fibre is typically too slow or too costly to install. The portfolio covers split-mount shorthaul, all-outdoor shorthaul and long-haul designs across the complete microwave spectrum from 5 to 80 GHz, so one platform serves a dense urban E-band hop, an urban or suburban aggregation site and a rural lower-band link alike. Split-mount radios such as the 6363 and 6365 pair a compact outdoor unit with an indoor node, while aggregation nodes such as the 6691, 6692 and 6693 concentrate several links on one platform with 1, 10 and 25 GE ports, integrated Ethernet switching and L3 VPN. Carrier aggregation, line-of-sight MIMO, XPIC and multi-band booster can typically raise capacity without new spectrum, and a multi-band booster combines a high-availability low-band link with a higher-band channel for extra capacity. E-band is also used as wireless fronthaul for eCPRI as a complement to fibre in C-RAN sites, while long-haul links extend rural coverage and provide redundancy to fibre. We hold this generation, including 6363 and 6365 radio units, 6651 and 6693 nodes and 6691/6692 subracks, alongside earlier MINI-LINK E modules: SMUs, MMUs, SAUs and fan units, supplied as tested spares for networks still in service.
