ECI XDM Multiservice Transport Platform
ECI Telecom's XDM is a multiservice transport platform built for metro and regional networks, and one of the early designs to put SDH/SONET add-drop multiplexing, Carrier Ethernet switching, ATM and CWDM/DWDM optics into a single managed platform. Instead of separate ADMs, cross-connects and WDM terminals, an operator deploys one XDM architecture with universal slots, hot-swappable cards and the LightSoft management system, then adds capacity as demand appears. The line runs from compact metro-access shelves such as the XDM-100, a modular unit with a 30 Gbps non-blocking matrix, STM-4/STM-16 ADM function, E1/DS-3 through STM-16/OC-48 interfaces and optional CWDM, up to metro-core and regional nodes with WSS ROADM. Typical work is metro access and regional aggregation in carrier, utility and enterprise networks, where legacy TDM still has to carry alongside Ethernet services. We supply XDM shelves, tributary and line cards, control and power modules, and the optical transceivers that keep installed XDM networks running.
